WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND 2nd JUNE at all Masses. Communication is part of God’s plan for us and an essential way to experience fellowship. Made in the image and likeness of our Creator, we are able to express and share all that is true, good, and beautiful. Donation will go to Bishops Conference of England and Wales.

 

THANK YOU to all parishioners who supported the TABLE TOP SALE last weekend.  £360 was raised and it will be divided between St. Joseph’s Convent in Bethlehem and a defibrillator for our parish church.

 

MARRIAGE IN CHURCH.  Couples thinking of getting married are reminded to register in good time (minimum of 6 months’ notice). Contact the parish office to make an appointment to see Fr. Kevin and he will help you from there.  Couples planning to marry in another parish or even outside the country should realise that the process properly begins here.

Sunday 9th June- Pentecost Sunday. There will be no 6pm Mass due to Confirmation Mass at 3pm on that day.

Friday, 21st June- PRE- BAPTISM MEETING at 7.30pm at the Presbytery. Please note that this meeting is for adults only.

PROCESSION IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY.  In celebration of the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Leyton would like to invite everyone on Friday 31st May at 5.30pm.

 

ELEVENTH GIDEA PARK STUDY DAY.  Drawing Nearer to the Presence of God with the Apocalypse This study day will focus on the rich verbal imagery of the Apocalypse. A number of shifting and blended images are used to visualise God, the risen Lord, the Spirit, and believers. We will consider a selection of passages together, sensitive to how they seek to draw us ever more closely into the presence of God. Dr Sean Michael Ryan Dr Sean Ryan is a Roman Catholic lecturer in Biblical Studies at the University of Roehampton, and formerly Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Heythrop College. FAITH EVENING ON THE LITURGICAL YEAR.  On Wednesday 12th June at 7 pm at the Catholic Church of Christ the Eternal High Priest, Gidea Park, RM2 6DH Fr David Manson will lead an evening on the Liturgical Year, exploring the main seasons of the Church’s year and explaining how the feasts of the Church are celebrated. PHILIPPINES 121st INDEPENDENCE DAY – 16th June 9am Mass.  The Filipino Community invite all parishioners on Sunday 16th June to celebrate Philippines Independence.  The celebration will include food served on the lawn after the 9am Mass.  There will be fund raising on that day for the parish defibrillator.  Any Filipino parishioners wishing to contribute to the celebration please ring Dolly Relopez on 020 8521 5742.

 

MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE: Each year Bishop Alan celebrates this Mass particularly for those who are newly married or celebrating special anniversaries. This year the Mass is on Saturday 6th July at 3pm in Brentwood Cathedral, with a reception afterwards. If you would like an invitation please speak to your parish priest. On the same day there is a conference in the Cathedral Hall for all those involved in supporting and promoting the vocation to marriage - see the diocesan website or speak to your parish priest for more information.

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype, we call people who want to listen to the Mass and broadcast the Mass to them over their phones. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you every Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

LEGION OF MARY meeting is held each Thursday after Mass at 10:15 am.  If anyone is interested in what we do you are very welcome to attend. For more information, come and meet us.

 

EL SHADDAI (CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC GROUP). Rosary prayer, praise and worship, preaching the gospel of the Lord, every Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm. All welcome to join.
